Leak Detection

You are here:Home » Leak Detection

Bel Air offers vinyl and fiberglass shell leak detection along with pressure testing to find all your swimming pools leaks.

Your pool may be leaking if:

  • Pool has air in the pump or plumbing lines
  • Equipment loses prime
  • Pool deck is sinking or lifting
  • There are soft spots around the pool
  • You add water more than once per week
  • Pool loses more than regular evaporation

Preparing you pool for a professional leak detection:

  • Pool must be clean, not green
  • Pool should be vacuumed spotless prior to leak detection
  • Test your pool for a leak using the bucket test **

** Bel Air will not schedule a leak detection until the leak is verified using the bucket test.

Electronic Leak Detection

Bel Air uses the state of the art LeakTrac 2200 Wireless to find leaks fast without dye, getting into the pool, or draining any water.  This technology is effective in any water containing vessel with an electrically insulating shell,(vinyl, fiberglass, acrylic, etc.)

How it works:leak-diagram

The sophisticated device puts a small electrical charge in the pool water.  This charge seeks to make a connection to the ground, since the pool liner is a good electrical insulator, the only ground connections are through leaks in the liner.  The LeakTrac detects electrical current flow in the water as it seeks the ground connection, and produces audible signals that lead the operator to the exact location of the leak.

Pressure Testing

Bel Air is equipped to pressure test most residential swimming pools without cutting any lines.  Pressure testing the plumbing lines will isolate a leaking line , so the problem can be fixed

Pricing

Electronic leak detection using LeakTrac 2200 – $250

Pressure test plumbing lines – $250

Complete leak detection – Electronic detection plus pressure test – $350
